Mafunyane (ma-foon-yah-ne) was one of the famous 'Magnificent Seven', a group of African elephants who roamed the Kruger National Park in South Africa. They were known as 'tuskers' because of the enormous size of their tusks. Mafunyane was renowned for the symmetry of his tusks, each 51.1 kg. The others were Shawu, Joao, Shingwedzi, Ndlulamithi, Kambaku and Dzombo.
